How do your values draw you into a larger relationship

with the community?

Dear friends,

This past Sunday we started our Open Questions Process to determine our goal for next year.  Yes, it’s early!  But the best planning is intentional and takes time. The Board chose service to the community as the direction of our next goal. We developed three questions to help us learn where you get your energy for service, what issues you care about, and what forms of volunteering can you see yourself committing to.

Last Sunday we introduced the first question, “
What values draw you into a deeper relationship with the larger community?”

We had some great conversations after each service but we also learned that our first question was not broad enough because it invited the simple naming of values rather than our engagement with them.  We reworked the question to invite you into a richer dialogue. Here it is:

How do your values draw you into a larger relationship with the community?

The Board of Trustees needs to get feedback from everyone who is inclined to volunteer in aid of the wider community.  We are envisioning working side by side in hands-on projects, large and small, and the Board looks forward to hearing as many ideas and opinions as possible, to search out projects that will bring enthusiastic participation by many in the congregation.

The board and I would love to hear from you.  Here is a
link to answer the question online. There will be paper forms in Adams Hall that you can fill out or take home and mail. The QR code to the online form will also be on the order of service and sanctuary screen next Sunday.

Let’s try again!  I’m excited to hear what you think.  Thanks for your patience and generosity.

In the service of our living tradition,

Rev. Krista
