Tornado Disaster Relief for the Week of 6-20-25

This is a transitional time for many survivors as many are out of immediate harm and beginning to think through their next steps and the long term. But there are still people living in tents and cars! Let us keep our attention focused on responding with unconditional love and acceptance to the expressed needs of those impacted.

 

Several of the large sites are now getting food and supplies from local businesses. We will keep monitoring needs. If you are aware of a site that is collecting and is not mentioned, please contact Claire Wyneken or Paula Fulks (see the directory in Eliot Connects) with the details. Thank you!

 

The People’s Response Hub is continuing to support North St. Louis residents impacted by the May 16 tornado. The People’s Response Hub will now operate from Kingdom Church STL, located at 4112 West Florissant, St. Louis, MO 63115. They will serve the community Tuesdays–Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The hub will not be open Sundays, Mondays or Fridays. They will operate at this new site through Saturday, June 28.

 

Love the Lou is accepting donated items Tuesday - Saturday 12-4 at 1421 N. Taylor ST. Louis, MO 63113

 

The following needs are requested for both The People's Response and Love the Lou:

· Deodorant

· Lotion

· Antibiotic ointment

· Band-Aids

· Baby Diapers

· Small laundry detergent

· Small dish soaps

· Kitchen sponges

· Adult diapers

· Feminine products

· Toothbrushes and toothpaste

· Body wipes

· Canned fruit and veggies, or fruit cups

· Canned meat, fish, etc

· Chef Boyardee like items/Soups

· Peanut Butter & Jelly

· Mac and Cheese, Cup noodles, ramen

· Snack items (crackers, fruit snacks, etc.)

 

The St. Louis Early Childhood Tornado Response Team will be at City Foundry’s Live Art Market Wednesday, June 25 from 5:30-8 PM, and are collecting essential items for families and early childhood centers impacted by the recent tornado. 

1. Non-perishables
2. Granola bars
3. Kids snacks (pretzels, cheez-its, chips)
4. Applesauce and yogurt pouches
5. Baby food
6. Baby puffs

If you have large items or multiple boxes: Drive in through the Vandeventer entrance onto Foundry Way and unload at the roundabout. If you can easily carry your items: Park your car and walk your items down to the roundabout
