Summer Volunteers Roundup

Coordinators Needed for the Eliot Chapel Booth at the Greentree Festival

We have had a booth at the Greentree Festival for the past three years. It gives us community exposure and recognition as we provide literature, a friendly chat, and free stickers and candy to anyone who passes by. A church with a vibrant social justice emphasis, such as Eliot Chapel, may be just what someone is looking for in these tumultuous times. We really want to keep our profile out in the community and this is a well-attended festival that attracts people from all over the area.

We are in need of one or two coordinators to prepare for and run the event. It is a short-lived volunteer effort! Coordinators divide the work of getting the booth set up and decorated, recruiting volunteers to work the booth, making sure brochures are updated and printed, and purchasing giveaways. The Greentree Festival will take place September 12-14. Previous coordinators have great timelines and notes to share with any eager co-chairs or chair who want to take this on!

It is time to rent our booth, but we are not going to do so unless coordinators are signed on to lead this charge. Please express your interest to Mary Meihaus or write a message to volunteervillage@eliotchapel.org.

Summer Sunday Sexton/Custodian Volunteers Needed

Our custodian does not work on summer Sundays, so starting June 1, there are 14 Sundays we need a volunteer to take care of those duties. You would be needed from 9:30-noon and the duties are pretty basic. This is a great job for a family or a couple of our youth to partner up on. We have some Sundays covered already - join in and help make this a true Volunteer Village effort! The description of duties can be found in the sign-up link. SIGN UP

Fun Outdoor Summer Fellowship with our Eliot Children

Outdoor fellowship opportunity beginning in June: Kalen Ponche, Kathy Becker, Cayla Suter, and Debbie Eldarrat are working to arrange supervised outdoor play and fellowship for kindergarten - 6th grade MOST Sundays beginning in June on the back field and 222 lot during summer services. We’ll only be able to offer this on Sundays when AT LEAST two adults are signed up in advance. As of today, what is "most in need" is volunteers for the outdoor summer fellowship on June 15, June 22, and every Sunday of July. SIGN UP
