October 2025 Board Bits

  • The Board affirmed the memberships of Brent and Cassie Youngblood. Welcome to the Youngblood family!
  • This month’s thoughtful question came from Jennifer: What’s the hardest lesson you’ve ever had to learn?
  • Membership is looking awesome: At the end of September in Realm, there were 230 “Pathway Guests” investigating membership at Eliot.
  • The Board will call a Special Meeting on November 16 to vote on the following:

  • Sale of the house gifted to Eliot by beloved member Chad Keller.
  • Bylaws revisions: 1) changes to our Endowment Fund policy, 2) adding the Director of Business Administration onto the Board as a non-voting member; 3) adding a new Board officer position for Prior Chair; and 4) updating pronouns throughout our bylaws to be non-gendered.
  • You can read about all five proposals on the Member Resources page.
  • Eliot's current policies and by-laws are on the website.

  • The Board reviewed the Open Questions discussion sessions led by Bob and Matthew. The congregation’s overall desire seemed to be the need to emphasize community. The Board looks forward to continuing engagement with our 2025-2026 Three Open Questions . (Find out more about the Three Open Questions process here.)

  • How shall we center love in our care of one another?
  • With whom in the broader community shall we grow in loving relationships?
  • What resources shall we commit to center and expand love?
