NEW! Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation offers weekly meditation sessions in the Vipassana tradition of Buddhism, including short talks on teachings relevant to the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness meditation involves observing the breath, body sensations, and

mental processes as they arise and pass away, without getting carried away by them. The goal is to be more present to the breadth of our experience as it happens in the moment. By increasing our capacity to be mindful of the body, emotions, and the mind, our practice can lead to greater peace of mind and less suffering.

The class structure will consist of a brief introduction, a 15-minute guided meditation, a 15-minute free meditation, a 20-minute talk/Q&A, and will end with a 10-minute loving-kindness meditation.

This program is designed for anyone interested in learning and practicing mindfulness meditation; previous experience is not required. Come as you are available; registration is not required.
