February 2025 Board Bits

  • Some Board members will be attending the upcoming second session of the Leading with Love workshop series offered by the Nominating and Leadership Committee. Those who attended the first session on Feb. 15 agreed that it was an informative, well-run workshop.
  • Eliot’s financials look good and attendance is up.
  • The Roadmap team has made great progress on this year’s Rolling Roadmap goals via constructive discussions on how to improve and focus next year's Roadmap. The decision was made to set aside Bergfried from Area of Focus 2 to focus on 222 Argonne.
  • Eliot has received an anonymous gift of $35,000 designated for purchasing a new high-resolution digital sign. Brian Franklin has been getting bids, and Debby Lovell has been working on potential designs. Two design options will be presented to the congregation for a vote – much as we did for the new carpet in Adams Hall.
  • The Board reviewed and began discussing the 25-26 draft budget prepared by Brian Franklin. The draft will be modified as needed based on the outcome of the March/April Stewardship Campaign. Final Board approval will occur at the April Board meeting.
  • The Winter Board retreat on March 8 will address final steps of the new governance policy document using the Hotchkiss model.
  • Matthew Hull was approved as the 25-26 chair elect; Matthew will be Chair of the Board of Trustees during the 26-27 church year. Thank you, Matthew!
  • Information sessions/discussions about honoring Barbara Gadon as minister emerita will be held March 9 in the Library during both coffee hours. Please stop by the Library with any questions you might have.
