Church Events Reception Team Members and Event Coordinators Sought

Do you like to entertain and host events or know someone who does? Eliot has a job (or two!) for you!

We are creating a new team of people who are interested in helping at ”special" church events. It is called the Church Events Reception Team at Eliot Chapel. This team may be asked to layout food and drinks for events we occasionally have at the chapel, such as the Ingathering potluck, Bread Service Sunday, and other special occasions where the ministers may ask us to help out.


These special occasions require layout and cleanup above and beyond the duties of our coffee hour volunteers. We need two coordinators who would share the responsibilities of gathering the team members when a need arises, purchasing food items (if not a potluck) and directing the preparation, presentation, set up, and cleanup of the event.


Please let volunteervillage@eliotchapel.org know if you are able to help out with this team and if you are willing to be one of the coordinators. It is an important job that helps us build community and support one another within this community. Eliot loves to party, but somebody has to host!


We are also in need of more people to serve as Event Coordinators for external rental events held at the chapel. If you are looking for a side job, this is actually a paid position! Coordinators work with the staff to meet the needs and wants of the group renting our space.

Event Coordinator Job Summary: Event coordinators are the onsite hosts for external rental events (concerts, recitals, memorials, weddings, etc.) and would also serve as a point of contact for member memorial services and member weddings. These coordinators would be onsite to supervise the renters during their setup and clean-up, as well as staying onsite for the duration of the event. This

is a non-staff paid position whose services are paid by Eliot Chapel. In the case of member memorials and weddings, the Event Coordinator is onsite to assure the family has everything they need. Our Eliot memorial reception volunteers would set up, serve and clean up a food and beverage offering for the family and their guests. This buffet is managed by the Reception Team Leader, not the Event Coordinator.
