Christmas Eve Nursery Volunteers Needed
When possible, Eliot strives to offer nursery care for the youngest UUs who need freedom of movement during the EARLY Christmas Eve service (which is at 5:00 pm in 2025). The Safe Congregation Policy requires that AT LEAST two adults (18+) be present for any activity involving children, regardless of the number of kids present.
Volunteer caregivers should open the nursery 30 minutes prior to the 5:00 pm service and prepare to care for young children, MOST of whom will be aged 4 and younger. The number of children present can vary considerably from year to year (some years it’s only 1 or 2, other years it’s much more). Caregivers should plan to stay until all children are picked up after the service, which is usually no more than 15 minutes after the service ends.
Adult caregivers will need to complete a Missouri background check prior to participating, or have a prior check verified. The D.R.E., Scott Stewart, can easily facilitate this process.
Interested individuals should contact Scott Stewart at
eliotchapelre@gmail.com NO LATER than Monday, December 1.
