April 2025 Board Bits
- We are continuing to reach out to members for the 2025-26 pledge campaign and are getting closer to our goal. Thank you to all who have submitted their pledges; your generosity makes everything we do at Eliot possible.
- Eliot has added one new member this month: Lynn Malley. Welcome, Lynn! We are so glad to have you with us!
- The listening/feedback sessions held by the 222 Argonne Discernment Team were well attended, and the discussions were lively. The Discernment Team, which reports to Rev. Krista and Brian Franklin, Director of Business Administration, is working on a building and land needs assessment to determine how well Eliot’s current facilities are serving us in living our mission. The team’s work is progressing smoothly.
- The Board held a special Board session on Zoom on Wednesday, April 30, to discuss and officially approve the 2025-26 budget. Also via Zoom, on Wednesday, May 7, the Board made a presentation to the congregation about the 2025-2026 budget.
- Eliot’s Social Justice Team is developing a Pink Haven response team to support Trans persons who are relocating for safety reasons or traveling to access health care, etc. To find out more about Pink Haven, please visit their website.
- The Board has been preparing for the Annual Meeting, which will be held after the Sunday service on May 18 in the sanctuary. Lunch will be provided by the Board in Adams Hall immediately after the service, and at 11:45, the Annual Meeting will immediately follow lunch.
