Our Whole Lives Program

Our Whole Lives is a comprehensive sexuality education program which is traditionally offered to 7th, 8th, and 9th grade youth every two years. Our Whole Lives, created jointly by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ, is designed to educate youth and equip them to make healthy and responsible choices with regard to their relationships, sexual health, and behavior. Learn more about this exciting program by clicking here.

Please note that due to the nature and content of the Our Whole Lives program, participation is strictly limited to youth who are officially registered and actively participating in the Religious Education program, or youth whose parents are pledging church members.

"I was raised Unitarian Universalist, but it wasn’t until I came to Eliot Chapel
and got involved in the youth program that I really became who I am today.
Once I had reached the Senior High, I had found my niche;
I was ready to take leadership and utilize my newfound confidence."

~ Ali Boettcher, Senior High Youth Group Member

6th Grade Youth Group6th Grade at CROP Walk

I’m honored to be working this year to create a new model for the 6th Grade Youth Group. We're looking forward to helping our younger youth become more involved in the church and the larger community. Already this year, we’ve participated in the St. Louis-area CROP Walk for Hunger, volunteered at the St. Louis Area Foodbank, and gathered together to bake bread for Eliot’s annual Bread Service. We look forward to much more fun and excitement during the rest of the year.”

~ Bob Coulter, 6th Grade Youth Advisor

The 6th Grade Youth Group meets on Sunday at 11:00 am. The program is designed to provide younger youth with increased opportunities to build relationships with other youth and adult church members through regular participation in youth group activities, social action and community service projects, and fellowship events.

Junior High Youth Group is awesome.  I love the field trips, activities, hanging out with friends, and meeting new friends.  What we talk about makes sense and is very interesting.  I love youth group and cannot wait for Sunday to come.”

~Colleen Lee, Junior High Youth Group Member

Junior High Youth Group meets on Sunday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and is open to 7th and 8th grade youth. Junior High youth spend a considerable amount of time exploring a variety of faith traditions through the Neighboring Faiths curriculum, which is designed to strengthen their awareness and appreciation for religious and spiritual practices. Youth in junior high also participate in a variety of worship, social action, and fellowship activities during the year and are strongly encouraged to participate in the Our Whole Lives program.

Senior High Youth Group

"One of the things that make Eliot Chapel’s Senior High Youth Group so incredible is our unwavering acceptance and tolerance. We pride ourselves on making sure each person feels welcome, regardless of his or her race, gender, sexual orientation, or abilities. We embrace newcomers for their differences and encourage them to flaunt what makes them unique."
